WSOP Main Event with UB
As a way to convince additional people to use a UB referral code and play games at their tables, the players that want to play in the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) have the chance to get a special UB bonus provided they win a seat through UB. You’ll be glad to hear that you won’t be earning Status Points for this UB bonus, however. If you can win your way into the Main Event by playing Sit N’ Go’s (SnGs) or multi-table satellites, you will receive cash for being on Team UB.
The UB bonus WSOP prize pool becomes bigger and bigger for every person that qualifies for a seat via satellites. If there are over 50 people with Main Event seats through UB, the site puts in $5,000 for each person. Once the prize pool is set, three quarters of the bonus cash will be split amongst the players that play in the Main Event and the other 25% will be split amongst Team UB members that cash the event. The entire prize pool will be divided between all the people that play if no one is able to cash.
Let’s look at an example situation. Imagine that sixty players make a UB download and go on to win seats to the WSOP Main Event. This means that UB will place $5k x 60 = $300k into the WSOP prize pool and each person will earn $3,750 as a bonus amount ($300k/60 x 0.75). If 3 people go on to cash the tournament, they will earn the remaining quarter of the prize pool and enjoy an extra $25k ($300k/3*25%). Not bad!
If you’re able to go one step further and earn the privilege of receiving poker hands at the final table of the event, the site will give you the opportunity to earn extra cash via a site sponsorship. A 9th place finish would earn you $75,000, and if you were to go all the way and take 1st, you’d earn $750,000! Placing in between 9th and 1st would net you a number in between. You’ll be endorsing the site for a year after the 2010 Main Event after you receive this final table bonus.
As an MTT poker player, you should be weighing your options regarding the Main Event. UB certainly offers some perks. The progressive prize pool guarantees that you’ll receive some bonus cash no matter what, and the bonuses for cashing the event are sure to earn you thousands more.
